Join us for a delightful lunch at The Davis Bangkok Hotel which will be the location to vote for the 2010-2011 AWC budget. This will be the only opportunity to vote on the budget, so we hope to see many members at this meeting.

ART.jpgOur special speaker, is Steven Pettifor*, who originated the Bangkok Art Map (BAM) a valuable resource for anyone interested in Thai art. Steven will introduce us to the wonderfully vibrant art scene in Bangkok, tell us about the locations and types of galleries, as well as, the various art shows in Bangkok. He will also share his insights about collecting Thai and Asian art... its value and who is hot!

* Writer-artist Steven Pettifor was born in 1968 in London. He migrated to Asia in 1992, and has spent 16-years in Bangkok. An ardent follower of contemporary Thai art, he has become a regular commentator upon art from Asia, contributing to several international and domestic newspapers and journals. Presently he is the Thailand Editor for the international bi-monthly publication Asian Art News and the quarterly World Sculpture News. In 2003 he published the book Flavours – Thai Contemporary Art. In 2007 Pettifor co-initiated the free monthly art resource Bangkok Art Map (BAM!). Starting in 2009 Pettifor teamed up with international travel company Exotissimo to conduct specialized art tours of Bangkok.
