Ladies! Let's get those dancing shoes on!

Join us for an hour of New York Salsa dancing. Originally, salsa meant music that developed from Son Montuno in Cuba. New York Salsa was created by Eddie Torres, who took Mamba and integrated it wth modern dance forms such as jazz and hip hop. It has become the most popular dance form around the world. You can dance with a partner or by yourself (Shine).

The class starts out with basic warming, breathing and balance exercises. In New York Shine, the focus is on body alignments, isolation and coordination of foot, hand and body movement.

Preparation for class...
Shoes: leather-soled shoes are best, if possible without heels, or lightweight sneakers
Outfit: comfortable clothing, pants/dress/skirt or dance workout gear
